Who can rent with Carly Rental?

Our rental requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Have a valid driver’s license (we do not accept learners’ or instructional permits)
  • Valid passport (for customers who are non-Canadian residents)
  • Have at least transferable auto collision, comprehensive and liability policy on vehicle class reserved

Do you have any restrictions on drivers who are younger than 25 years old?

If you are younger than 25 years old, you can rent the following vehicle classes:
Economy, Compact, Small, and Standard SUVs with seating up to 5 passengers, and Full Size Cars.

We are sure that you will find your perfect car even if you are under 25 years old.

Do I need to pay a fee if I am younger than 25?

There is a fee of $25 per day for drivers between 21 and 24 years old.

Do you have special driving license requirements for Canadian residents?

Customers who reside in Canada must present a valid, unexpired government-issued Driver’s license which includes a photograph of the customer.

  • Digital licenses are not accepted.
  • Photocopies of Driver’s Licenses are not accepted
  • “Learner’s Permits” are not accepted
  • Any license which dictates the use of a vehicle equipped with a form of a breathalyzer is not accepted.
  • The driver’s license must be valid for the entire rental period.

Do you have special driving license requirements for non-Canadian residents?

Customers traveling to Canada from another country must present the following:

  • Their home country driver’s license that is valid, unexpired, and includes a photograph
  • In the case that your country license is in a language different from English or French, and it is written with the Latin alphabet, we recommend using an International Driver’s Permit when renting with us.

If you are not holding a US or Canadian driver’s license, you have to provide a valid passport.

What is forbidden for car rentals?

  • Smoking and vaping
  • Pets
  • Trips outside of the Quebec area
  • Trips to the US
  • Drinking and driving
  • Texting and driving

What are the payment methods?

We are accepting VISA® and MasterCard® cards. 

Are security deposits required?

Yes, all of our rentals have mandatory security deposits. By leaving a deposit when booking a car, you are securing your reservation. After the rental period is done, and if the vehicle is in the same condition, we will return your deposit to you. The minimum deposit is $1,000.

Do you have a fee for additional drivers?

There is a $ 10 per day fee for an additional driver.

However, if a married couple or domestic partner rents a car, they do not have to pay this fee.

The additional driver also needs to meet the requirements for rent.

Do you have an after-hours key drop service?

At the moment, we don’t have an after-hours key drop service.

We are open from Monday to Friday from 9 am – 5 pm, Saturday 9 am – 12 pm, and Sunday 10 am – 12 pm.

Please return the vehicle during our opening hours!

Can I travel to the US with the vehicle I rented with you?

Unfortunately, all trips to the US with our vehicles are forbidden for now.

Do you offer any damage waiver?

We have a damage waiver that ranges between $25.99 and $49.99 CAD per day depending on the type of the vehicle. It is not mandatory, but it adds an additionnal financial protection in the case of loss or damage to the vehicle. Contact us for more details.

What is your fuel policy?

We have 2 options:

  1. Prepay Fuel option – you pay for the fuel in advance, and when it is time to return the car, you don’t have to think about stopping at a gas station. 
  2. We Refill option – when you return the car that doesn’t have a full tank, we will refill the fuel, and charge you for the missing fuel. With this option, the price per gallon will be a bit higher than at a local gas station.
